Master Printer at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, Christina Roberts returns to Pittsburgh to teach a two-day workshop combining silkscreen and natural dyes on fabric. Her Plant to Print 1 introductory workshop this past June at Spinning Plate was a hit, with requests for a longer version. Here it is!
If you choose to have a silk screen done, the artwork is due to Michelle Browne by June 1. Participants may supplement with their own “ready to print,” pre-scoured silk or wool fabrics.

Using simple and familiar methods to introduce the concepts of digital surface pattern design, Amber Coppings takes you to her studio in Lawrenceville. Bring in your sketches, shibori-ed, knitted, printed, woven or stitched fabrics to scan to create sensational repeat patterns and yardage. Amber will introduce you to the technology used by many textile designers and quilters.
