Workshop: Monoprinting on Fabric

The Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh presents a Monoprinting on Fabric Workshop at Artist Image Resource (AIR) on March 21st. Create unique, one-of-a-kind prints on fabric using this versatile printmaking technique—perfect for art quilts, wearable art, and mixed media projects. Expert instruction provided in AIR’s professional printmaking studio; all levels welcome!

Once registered bring the following:
Fabric and paper – cut to fit in a 12×18 image area
Participants are encouraged to bring other media that works with plexi printing e.g. oil based relief inks, acrylic inks, etc. (13×19 cougar paper provided for proofing. Rag paper will also be available to purchase.)

The workshop will include:
Tour of facilities
Walkthrough of the printing press
Demonstration of Monoprinting approaches using Plexiglass
A piece of plexi glass will be provided
Waterbased Relief Inks will be provided
Rollers, Brayers, and other miscellaneous tools will be available to use
13×19 cougar paper provided for proofing
Rag paper will also be available to purchase

Participants are encouraged to bring any tools that may be useful in create monoprints
