Fiberart International 2028 Planning Session (Zoom)

I’m thrilled to announce that Fiberart International is experiencing a true renaissance of interest from Fiberarts Guild members and the momentum is real.

At our most recent planning meeting, Cheryl Hooper, FI Volunteer Coordinator and I, FI22 Project Director and current FI Committee Chair, laid out a very specific and thoughtful logistical plan. We’ve drafted a budget. We’ve drafted a timeline. And within that one-hour-long meeting, nearly 40 key volunteer positions were filled. That kind of response speaks volumes about the excitement and commitment building around FI2028.

There is still plenty of room and many meaningful opportunities for folks to get involved. We’ve intentionally broken the work into small, manageable logistical puzzle pieces that fit together, making it easy to contribute in ways that match your interests, skills, and availability.

We are still seeking co-directors to take the helm, but it’s important to note that these roles will look very different from past iterations of the exhibition. Co-directorship would be more of a purely project management and liaison role, supported by a clear plan, a solid framework, and a large, energized team already in motion. Whoever steps into this role will be truly set up for success, surrounded by dedicated guild members ready to make Fiberart International 2028 a reality.
