Dutch native Petra Fallaux is a writer, curator, artist and a Fiberarts Guild member participating in exhibitions and working behind the scenes on the Program committee and Fiberart Internationals.
Petra’s most recent exhibition Imprinted on Cloth at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn NY this summer “showcased four fiber artists whose work crosses the boundaries between quilting and printmaking: Using layering of fiber reactive dyes and surface design techniques such as silk screening, monoprinting, painting, stenciling, scraping and other mark-making methods they create masterful abstract compositions using color, shape, and line.”
An active multi tasking artist, Petra is co- Juror for Quilts=Art=Quilts 2025 currently at Schweinfurth Art Center, manages the award winning local architectural firm Springboard Design, writes catalog text for exhibitions and teaches Surface Design techniques at the Nancy Crow Barn in Baltimore, Ohio.
