Get Ready for SoulBeats

Get Ready for FGP’s next member exhibition, “SoulBeats.”

Artist’s Statement and Bio – We will have a discussion about preparing an Artist’s Statement, what to say, how to say it, and different approaches. We will also briefly discuss the Artist Bio.

Critique – Bring the work you plan on entering in SoulBeats, or any other work that you would like to have critiqued. We will work together as a group to give input, answer questions and provide guidance. While this is a more intense approach than typical “show and share” events, it is still completely driven by the artist. We will all follow the lead of the artist, answering their specific questions related to the work. It is a wonderful learning experience as we help each other. Even if you do not want to bring work, please come! There is so much to learn by just watching and participating in the discussion process as we all work together and help each other improve our work!!

It’s a terrific way to get to know each other! And there is the added bonus of seeing the exhibition at Pittsburgh’s new International Sculpture Center where several of our members have work on exhibit!

Staci Offutt and Carolyn Carson will organize and moderate the discussions.
