Join us to learn more about some of the opportunities to get involved\, including: \n\n\n\nSpeaker engagements for Fiber Sunday events — we’ve got a great directory of members who have generously contributed their time\, and we also have access to a broader network of celebrated artists all over the country! Fiber Sunday events happen on a monthly basis\, so we’re looking to queue up and get folks slotted in as early as possible. \n\n\n\nWorkshops — these a great way to bring FGP members together\, whether in-person or virtually. We’re looking to host 2 or more workshops in 2027 and we’ve love some ideas and support to make this happen. \n\n\n\nField trips — they come in a variety of experiences\, whether we’re traveling to a festival\, checking out a new exhibition\, or touring a fiber mill. We’re looking to organize 2 or more field trips in 2027 and we’d love some suggestions on how to craft these meaningful experiences for our members. \n\n\n\n \n \n FGP Zoom Event Registration\n Sign up to receive the Zoom link! \n \n CompanyThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Which event?(Required)Programs Committee Mtg Oct 20Craft & Connect Oct 27Programs Committee Mtg Dec 8Programs Committee Mtg Feb 9Craft & Connect Nov 24Use the drop down box to choose the zoom event you will be attending.\n Submit URL:https://fiberartspgh.org/event/programs-committee-call-for-volunteers-zoom-2/ ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://fiberartspgh.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/call-for-volunteers-2.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20270209T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20270209T200000 DTSTAMP:20260914T213804Z CREATED:20260914T213751Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260914T213804Z UID:11282-1802199600-1802203200@fiberartspgh.org SUMMARY:Programs Committee: Call for Volunteers (Zoom) DESCRIPTION:The Programs Committee is seeking volunteers to help us plan for 2027. Rooted in tailoring tradition\, it refers to garments made from the same bolt of fabric\, eachdistinct in form yet united by a common material. Over time\, the expression has become a metaphor for the invisible threads that connect us: our histories\, communities\, beliefs\, and shared humanity. \n\n\n\nThe Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh invites artists to consider these connections through the language of fiber. As a community dedicated to advancing fiber art in all its forms\, we recognize that while artists work with diverse materials\, techniques\, and perspectives\, they are united by a commitment to creative exploration\, technical excellence\, and innovation. \n\n\n\nAcross two gallery spaces\, selected works will engage in a visual conversation\, revealing relationshipsbetween process\, material\, and meaning. Together\, they will explore themes of identity\, community\,belonging\, resilience\, and transformation\, demonstrating the extraordinary breadth of contemporary fiberart. \n\n\n\nWe invite Fiberarts Guild members to contribute original work that expands this dialogue\, offering personal interpretations of connection\, shared experience\, and collective making. Whether literal or conceptual\, intimate or monumental\, each work becomes part of a larger tapestry that celebrates both the threads that unite us and the unique perspectives each artist brings to the whole. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJuror\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMargaret Dugger is an artist currently based in Pittsburgh\, PA. They studied at Haywood Community College in Clyde\, North Carolina\, and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. \n\n\n\nTrained in traditional handweaving\, Margaret uses historic craft skills to make sense of our contemporary lives. She is excited and inspired by what happens when you combine new materials and ways of thinking with old processes! Margaret has been thankful to learn from a wide variety of teachers\, who have guided her on this path. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProspectus\n\n\n\nSubmit Your Work URL:https://fiberartspgh.org/event/same-cloth-a-fiberarts-guild-of-pittsburgh-juried-member-exhibition/ CATEGORIES:Guild Exhibitions ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://fiberartspgh.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/SameClothIG.png END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
