She is the Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum and a lead partner and curator with The Documentary Works\, a group that produces photo documentary exhibits on social and environmental justice. \n\n\n\nBefore her appointment to the Museum\, she has worked as an independent arts consultant leading successful fundraising efforts for a variety of institutional and individual clients. We will discuss the different ways needle felting can be used to embellish quilts and supply options. \n\n\n\nCommercial panels will be available for you to use\, or you may bring a fabric panel of your choice. Wool rovings and other embellishments such as yarn thread will be available. An embellisher will be available to try out\, but most of the needle felting will be done by hand. \n\n\n\nThreadpainting will be demonstrated and used to highlight features of the cloth panel. \n\n\n\nMending a garment with needle felting will also be shown. No need to throw out a sweater with a hole or two! Bring a wool sweater that is thrifted or damaged\, and we’ll explore how to turn it into a one of a kind garment.
