This is a great opportunity for members to support their fellow artists. \n\n\n\nCatalogs: There are still catalogs available for $35 – cash or check to FGP. Please let Cheryl Hopper or Kathie Hollingshead know if you would like a catalog ASAP in case we need to order more. \n\n\n\nArtist talks: Artists with a piece in the exhibition will have a chance to very briefly tell us about their work. It is all very informal and laid-back and there will be an chance for you to ask questions. Whether you are a fellow exhibitor or are there as an observer without a piece in this show\, you may be surprised how much you can learn or what new ideas you can get from watching and being involved in the conversation. \n\n\n\nPeople’s Choice: The People’s Choice award will be announced toward the end of the closing so those who haven’t seen the exhibition yet can have a chance to vote. \n\n\n\nParking and ride sharing: There is a community parking garage across the street from the gallery that you enter from 106 W Otterman St\, Greensburg\, PA 15601. Kathie will post again on the member’s Facebook page to help people coordinate rides.Cheryl Hopper and Kathie Hollingshead \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout the Juror\n\n\n\nJacobo Alonso of Mexico exhibited in the Fiberarts International 2022 in Pittsburgh\, where he receivedthe Sally Yunis Memorial Award for Innovative Use of Materials. He has also participated in exhibitionsaround the globe\, including Mexico\, Finland\, the United States\, England\, Hungary\, Italy\, France\,Portugal\, Poland\, Spain\, Slovakia\, Ukraine\, Bratislava\, the Czech Republic\, Germany\, Republic ofSouth Korea\, Malaysia\, Australia\, the Netherlands\, Lithuania\, and China. Alonso received anHonorable Mention at Fiber Options: Material Explorations\, in Maryland and at the CheongjuInternational Biennale\, in the Republic of South Korea. In addition\, he was awarded the Career Awardin Performance on Paper in Lucca\, Italy\, among others. \n\n\n\nAlonso has been an artist in residence at ART OMI\, New York\, in 2024; at HIPERTEXTILE in CórtexFrontal\, Portugal in 2024; at SÍM Residency\, Iceland in 2024; at the Building Bridges Gallery in LosAngeles\, in 2017; and at the ARTELES Creative Center in Haukijärvi Finland 2015.

Please check on museum hours before you plan your visit. \n\n\n\n\nOrder a Catalog\n\n\n\n\nJurors\n\n\n\nLaura Domencic\, Executive Director\, Erie Art Museum \n\n\n\nLaura Domencic is an artist\, curator\, writer and educator who cultivates creative thinking in individuals and communities. She is the Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum and a lead partner and curator with The Documentary Works\, a group that produces photo documentary exhibits on social and environmental justice. \n\n\n\nBefore her appointment to the Museum\, she has worked as an independent arts consultant leading successful fundraising efforts for a variety of institutional and individual clients. She has also directed an artist residency program in Ambialet\, France. Previously\, Domencic served for 11 years as Director of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. \n\n\n\nDomencic received her MFA from Lesley University in Cambridge\, Massachusetts\, and her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. lauradomencic.com \n\n\n\nJamie Keim-Pomorski\, Program Manager & Designer\, Erie Art Museum \n\n\n\nJamie is an artist living in Erie\, Pennsylvania by way of Brooklyn\, New York and Pensacola\, Florida. she is an abstract artist and graphic designer with a BFA Fine Arts/Digital Design from Pace University in New York City. She is currently the Program Manager and Designer at the Erie Art Museum\, as well as a practicing studio artist and an art teacher at the Inner City Neighborhood Art House. Jamie loves to volunteer and work with children in the arts and sciences\, and is an active member of the urban forest committee of the city of Erie.Fluent in multiple Adobe programs\, Jamie is a seasoned graphic designer with a bold understanding of space and composition. As an abstract painter\, she uses creative\, conceptual\, yet sometimes unusual solutions to achieve desired textures and compositions. As an educator\, Jamie encourages intuitive thinking and planning while creating with and educating others. As a program manager\, she oversees local educational programs and initiatives and teaches alternative solutions to painting\, collaging\, and design. \n\n\n\nWhile Jamie accepts freelance digital design projects when she can\, she focuses the majority of her free time and creative energy on studio work\, working primarily on larger abstract paintings with mixed media.
