For special assistance with drop off please contact: Katie Bulova bulovakatie@gmail.com or Debbie Penley penley75@verizon.net \nLocation: \nNorth Hills Art Center \n3432 Babcock Blvd\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15237 \nSHIPPED WORK: if shipping\, contact Katie Bulova for details: bulovakatie@gmail.com \nDeadline for shipping: March 1\, 2023 \nDrop Off Artwork: Mar. 9 &10\, 2023\, 3 – 6 pm \nOpening Reception: March 11\, 2023\, 5 – 8 pm \nPick up Artwork: April 10\, 2023\, 3 – 6 pm \nGALLERY HOURS \nExhibition hours will be announced. \nSubmission REQUIREMENTS \n\nOpen to members of the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh.\nAll work must be either fiber in content or executed in a fiber technique.\nWork must be original and cannot have been exhibited in a previous FGP member exhibition.\nEntries must be ready to securely hang or install and any required hardware must be included. The North Hills Art Center utilizes a wall hanging system with hanging cables and hooks. Work may not be hung directly onto the wall. No work that requires being hung from the ceiling.\nSubmissions cannot exceed 36” in any direction. 3D work welcome.\nAs the North Hills Art Center facilitates classes throughout the week to all age levels\, the gallery requests no images of nudity of a sexual nature\, graphically violent or depicting gore\, no use of or depiction of illegal substances.\n\nUP to two entries will be accepted. \nSALE OF ARTWORK \n\nCommission on sales: 70% to the artist and 30% to North Hills Art Center\n\nSELECTION PROCESS \n\nWork will be selected from digital image submissions.\nSelection will be based on which pieces fit in the space cohesively. At least one piece from each artist will be placed in the main gallery. Extra entries chosen may be displayed in the second-floor gallery classroom. The second-floor gallery space is not wheelchair accessible\nAn artist’s statement is requested of all selected artists.\n\nIMAGE REQUIREMENTS \n\nArtists may submit two entries. Each entry must include two images:\n\nImage 1:  full view of your submission \nImage 2:  detail \n Images must show the edges of the work\, be properly lit and in focus. \n\nWork exhibited in a frame must include the frame in the digital image. Work framed under glass must be photographed without glass but noted that it will be displayed with glass.\nProvide digital images at a resolution of approx. 2000 pixels on the longest side. Files must be under 3MB. DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh Juried Membership Exhibition at the Erie Art Museum.  \n\n\n\n\n\nCongratulations to all participating FGP member artists! \n\n\n\nImportant Update Regarding Erie Museum Closure and Exhibit Plans\n\n\n\nPlease note that the Erie Art Museum will be closed for repairs from December 25th to 27th\, with the possibility of an extension through December 28th and 29th. Please check on museum hours before you plan your visit. \n\n\n\n\nOrder a Catalog\n\n\n\n\nJurors\n\n\n\nLaura Domencic\, Executive Director\, Erie Art Museum \n\n\n\nLaura Domencic is an artist\, curator\, writer and educator who cultivates creative thinking in individuals and communities. She is the Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum and a lead partner and curator with The Documentary Works\, a group that produces photo documentary exhibits on social and environmental justice. \n\n\n\nBefore her appointment to the Museum\, she has worked as an independent arts consultant leading successful fundraising efforts for a variety of institutional and individual clients. She has also directed an artist residency program in Ambialet\, France. Previously\, Domencic served for 11 years as Director of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. \n\n\n\nDomencic received her MFA from Lesley University in Cambridge\, Massachusetts\, and her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. lauradomencic.com \n\n\n\nJamie Keim-Pomorski\, Program Manager & Designer\, Erie Art Museum \n\n\n\nJamie is an artist living in Erie\, Pennsylvania by way of Brooklyn\, New York and Pensacola\, Florida. she is an abstract artist and graphic designer with a BFA Fine Arts/Digital Design from Pace University in New York City. She is currently the Program Manager and Designer at the Erie Art Museum\, as well as a practicing studio artist and an art teacher at the Inner City Neighborhood Art House. Jamie loves to volunteer and work with children in the arts and sciences\, and is an active member of the urban forest committee of the city of Erie.Fluent in multiple Adobe programs\, Jamie is a seasoned graphic designer with a bold understanding of space and composition. As an abstract painter\, she uses creative\, conceptual\, yet sometimes unusual solutions to achieve desired textures and compositions. As an educator\, Jamie encourages intuitive thinking and planning while creating with and educating others. As a program manager\, she oversees local educational programs and initiatives and teaches alternative solutions to painting\, collaging\, and design. \n\n\n\nWhile Jamie accepts freelance digital design projects when she can\, she focuses the majority of her free time and creative energy on studio work\, working primarily on larger abstract paintings with mixed media.
