Fee: $60 (includes $10 materials fee)

Using simple and familiar methods to introduce the concepts of digital surface pattern design, Amber Coppings takes you to her studio in Lawrenceville.  Bring in your sketches, shibori-ed, knitted, printed, woven or stitched fabrics to scan to create sensational repeat patterns and yardage. Amber will introduce you to the technology used by many textile designers and quilters.

Aptly planned for the early spring month of March, Awakening is an exhibition open to all Fiberarts Guild members. Work entered may utilize any and all fiber techniques and materials that reflect the artistry of the creator. Entries needn’t interpret the Awakening theme literally, but… What awakens you?

The PCA Guild Council and Guild Exhibition Committee invite Guild artists to exhibit their current work in THE NEW COLLECTIVE 2016. Pittsburgh Center for the Arts was founded in 1945 by a group of artists in an entrepreneurial partnership with civic leaders. The opening of the Center was intrinsically linked to the city’s first Renaissance and marked the coming of age of the artistic heart of industrial Pittsburgh. The Guilds of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts continue to flourish and are a strong part of the Pittsburgh art community.
